Community Guidelines

At Ryu App, we believe in creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where community members help one another with dog care. To maintain a respectful and positive experience for all, we’ve established these Community Guidelines.

These guidelines are in place to protect everyone in the community—dog owners, helpers, and, of course, the dogs themselves. By participating, you agree to uphold these standards.
 

 

1️⃣ Respect & Kindness
 

  • Treat each other with respect and kindness at all times.

  • Be patient: Everyone has different schedules and priorities.

  • If a user is unresponsive, avoid repeated messaging. Instead, use the Ryu App’s support feature for assistance.

  • No discrimination, harassment, or bullying will be tolerated (see "Zero Tolerance for Harassment" for more details).
     

 

2️⃣ Communication
 

  • Be Clear & Honest: If you accept a request, communicate your availability honestly.

  • Provide Updates: If you're providing care, update the dog owner with photos or messages as agreed.

  • If you're running late for a pickup/drop-off, notify the other person immediately.
     

 

3️⃣ Safety & Dog Welfare

  • Prioritize the Dog's Well-Being: If something seems off (illness, injury, or behavior changes), notify the dog owner and Ryu App Support right away.

  • Follow Care Instructions: Stick to the care instructions provided in the request. If you’re unsure, ask.

  • No Unleashed Walks: Dogs should only be off-leash in designated areas (like dog parks) where it is safe and permitted.
     

 

4️⃣ Compliance with Laws

  • Follow All Applicable Laws: Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws related to dog care, animal welfare, and online conduct.

  • Respect Local Ordinances: Ensure that dog care activities comply with local rules on pet handling, licensing, and public space usage.

  • Stay Ethical: Follow ethical standards when providing care and ensure humane treatment for all dogs under your care.
     

 

5️⃣ Reliability & Accountability

  • Be Reliable: If you commit to a request, follow through. Canceling last-minute disrupts the community and the requester.

  • Be on Time: Show up at the agreed-upon time for pickups, drop-offs, or care services.

  • Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, follow Ryu App's cancellation policy to avoid penalties.
     

 

6️⃣ Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Respect Privacy: Do not share private information (like addresses or contact info) with others.

  • House Rules: If you’re providing care at someone’s home, follow their rules (e.g., no shoes, no furniture access for dogs, etc.).
     

 

7️⃣ Honesty & Transparency

  • Be Honest: If something goes wrong, be transparent about it. Mistakes happen, but honesty builds trust.

  • Report Issues: If you experience a negative interaction, notify Ryu App Support so we can help resolve it.
     

 

8️⃣ Feedback and Improvement

  • Share Your Thoughts: Provide constructive feedback, suggestions, and ideas to help improve the Ryu App platform and community.

  • Collaborate with Others: Participate in brainstorming sessions or group discussions with community members to identify areas for improvement.

  • Help Shape the Community: Your input directly impacts the future of Ryu App, and we value every suggestion.
     

 

9️⃣ Zero Tolerance for Harassment

  • No Harassment, Bullying, or Discrimination: We have zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.

  • Report Misconduct: If you experience or witness inappropriate behavior, report it to Ryu App Support immediately.

  • Consequences: Harassment, bullying, or harmful behavior can result in warnings, account suspension, or permanent account removal.

  • Welcome Everyone: We celebrate diversity in all forms, including race, gender, religion, culture, and background.

  • Inclusive Environment: Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued in the Ryu App community.

  • Support Equity: Create space for different perspectives and recognize the unique contributions of every member.
     

 

1️⃣1️⃣ Emergency Situations

  • Act Quickly: If a dog is lost or injured, prioritize finding help immediately.

  • Contact the Owner: Notify the dog owner and contact Ryu App Support right away.

  • Take Action: If the dog is injured, follow first-aid protocols or visit a local vet if necessary.
     

 

1️⃣2️⃣ User Responsibilities

  • Dog Owners: Be clear with instructions, and ensure your dog is healthy, vaccinated, and ready for care.

  • Caregivers: Follow the care instructions closely, respect home rules, and ensure dogs are safe, healthy, and happy.
     

 

1️⃣3️⃣ Conflict Resolution

  • If you encounter a disagreement, contact Ryu App Support to mediate.

  • Keep communication calm, respectful, and solution-oriented.
     

 

🔍 What Happens If You Violate the Guidelines?

  • Warnings: For first-time, minor issues, users may receive a warning.

  • Temporary Suspension: Serious violations (like disrespect, unreliability, or pet welfare issues) may result in temporary suspension.

  • Account Removal: Repeat or severe violations may lead to permanent account deactivation.
     

 

🤝 Agreement

By using Ryu App, you agree to these guidelines and commit to upholding a positive, safe, and respectful community for all users and their dogs.
